September Artist Spotlight: Melissa Gay
Melissa Gay pursued a BA degree in Studio Art at the University of the South (c’ 1990), an MS degree in Biology from Middle Tennessee State University, and a less-than-satisfying career in fine art before realizing that she had always wanted to be a fantasy illustrator. In 1998 she began to show and sell prints of fairy paintings at science fiction conventions, and she has been happy ever since. Her illustrations have appeared in roleplaying games and supplements, lab manuals, herbals, a comic book, and a newspaper. She lives in Nashville, Tennessee, with her husband and baby son, one resident cat, and two cats errant who just stop by for meals. When not drawing or painting, she is reading or singing to her child, practicing Wado-Ryu Karate, roleplaying, hiking, writing, harassing a musical instrument, sewing, or otherwise getting into mischief. She has been an avid roleplayer since the age of 10.
Melissa is our September spotlight artist, and brings us a glimpse into the Summer and Winter Courts of the Fae.

That’s never Elaine with the pentacle, is it? Hmm, can’t imagine what Harry ever saw in her
ME LIKEY!!!
that’s lovely absolutely lovely.
very nice, can’t wait to see the finished product.
Fulsome beauties, those!
good work of shadows nice characters fits there discribtion in the book who is the spiky haired guy on the right? i dont get it? maybe its been to long since i read that book
Guy on the right panel is Lloyd Slate, the Winter Knight, with the Winter Lady and her green-toothed fey-pal…
All of the art shown thus far is great!
Actually, I have the feeling that the guy’s Harry. The dandelion-haircut kinda gives it away for me.
I don’t know. It looks like Slate to me.
Yeah that coat is SO not Harry.
yeah… pretty sure thats slate if you look on the neck you see two points of shadow that stick out more so than the other shadows… this could just be for shadow effect but it could also be slades winter mark on his neck. plus if that is harry that messed up his face entirely.
