If you go to http://www.demonground.com/Downloads/15.aspx, there's an adventure I wrote for WitchCraft called "Big Trouble in Little Italy" that is set in Baltimore.

Consequently, it has a breakdown on some of the major neighborhoods and what their character is like (I worked a horrible job in Baltimore for a couple of months and got to know the city a little bit).

Another item not on a map and relating to John's mention of ghosts. Is the mystery surrounding Poe's grave. Every haloween "someone" leaves a bottle of alcohol and a bunch of flowers. There have supposedly been watches put on the grave to determine who the mystery person is. No one has been caught yet.
Just an FYI.

ps.. I used to live near baltimore. It is an excellent choice for Dresden files. :)

I was looking at the baltimore neighborhoods site you linked to and discovered the interactive mapping site http://maps.baltimorecity.gov/imap/Default.aspx
I'm sure you've seen it, but I wanted to draw to your attention the option to display historical districts. It seems to me that a Dresden game would focus heavily on the history of the city, or at least moreso than modern neighborhoods.

Also, have you given any thought to famous hauntings or ghost stories of Baltimore?

...Now stop reading my comment and finish the game already!

John

Yah, the ci.baltimore page is fantastic in a couple of different ways. Thing is, that was one more element in the information overflow. There are so many ways to come up with a neighborhood list, that I'm going to try to reverse-engineer my needs - come up with a list of the kinds of neighborhoods I need, then plug into it out of the pile. It's a little weird to look at the kind of differences that go into craftign a list based on the needs to a game (compared to, say, a novel or guidebook).

Perhaps, instead of looking at all the neighborhoods in the city, you'd be better off starting from a list of the city's historical districts. Conveniently, one can be found here: http://www.ci.baltimore.md.us/government/historic/districts.html

It certainly doesn't cover everything, and you'll have to add in places that have become important to the city recently. But it does give you a much shorter list selected for places that have been significant in the city's past.
