Finding Evil Hat at GenCon

August 2nd, 2010 Leave a comment Go to comments

Just a quick note for folks going to GenCon — while Origins was our big-deal convention of the Summer, we will still have a presence at GenCon!

Folks from the DFRPG crew who will be there: Ryan Macklin, Amanda Valentine, and Clark Valentine. (Sadly, no Fred, Rob, Chad, or Lenny.)

Where to get the game: Exclusively at the Indie Press Revolution/Evil Hat Productions booth! Booth #2339. (Here’s a map with some useful vendor links.) Ryan, Amanda, and Clark should be at the booth at various times, potentially running booth demos and definitely signing books.

We also hear there will be a few games on the schedule (likely sold out long ago) and some play at the Games On Demand area as part of the Indie Games Explosion. Check it out!

I’m happy to report lots of nice shiny copies of both books were prominently displayed in my FLGS (The Source Comics and Games in Roseville, MN)

Games on Demand (Gencon Indy 2010) will take place on Friday and Saturday (August 6-7) from 10am – 6pm in Grand Central Ballroom B of the Crown Plaza Hotel.

Once you’re there, look for the groups of excited gamers at tables 1-6. Find the event hosts, tell them what you’re interested in playing and let them guide you to the fun.

While you do not need to register for games, generic tickets are required to play at GoD. The best time to find open games is at the start of a session (10am or 2pm). You can also show up with a game ready and volunteer to run it at an open table!

If you’re interested in signing up as a host or GM, contact Scott (saintandsinner.jmj@gmail.com) or talk with one of the hosts at the event for more information.

For additional updates online, check out the @Games_On_Demand account on Twitter.

Had a great time and was very excited to see you guys at GenCON. I was not sure if Evil Hat would be in the house, very cool. I was not able to get into any of the games unfortunately due to incredible turout at tables to play Dresden. At one table there were nine of us waiting hoping to be able to get in on a Dresden Game. The books look very good by the way and felt like a solid product.
