Do we get a pdf copy if we buy it from our FLGS? Because I was hoping to buy it directly from you guys, both to get the pdf copy and to support you directly, instead of my money going through three or more middlemen, all taking their cut, but then I saw the estimated shipping cost – $65US! I know Australia’s a little out of the way, but still! I would like the pdf copies – being able to search for keywords has been so useful – but my wallet can’t really support almost paying double for the books in order to have the pdfs.

In fact, it can’t really support buying the books at all at the moment, especially with needing to replace my dying computer in the near future, but don’t tell it that.

@Matt, yes, our policy backs FLGS purchases with complimentary PDFs.

@jake, I show Village Games in Anoka as a definite carrier; they were one of the ones who participated in our in-store preorder program. Don’t know how far that puts it from you, though. Borders has also been known to have the book in stock at various locations.

know anything about the store in roseville minnesota called the source if they ahve it?

    September 7th, 2010 at 09:23 | #8

@jake, I know of “The Source” as it exists in Wisconsin, but not in Minnesota. The one I mentioned in Anoka is the only one I’ve had contact with so far, but that doesn’t mean it’s the only game store that can carry the game. You should go to your local game store of choice and ask them to place an order through their distributor contacts.

Hi can you tell me if there is someplace in Toronto, Canada to purchase the books and if so would it include the pdfs? Or is there a Canadian web site that I can purchase it from and also get the pdfs? I am very excited to play this game so I hope that you can help me.

    Thanks,

    Janice

Very likely any game store in your area can order the books for you if they don’t have them already. One of our suppliers in Canada is Lion Rampant, an in-country distributor that most major game stores in Canada utilize.

@jake Not sure if you found a copy already, but as of a few days ago the Minnetonka Borders had a copy of Volume 1

@Wayne, yep. We’re working on something called “Paranet Perils”, due out next (but we’re not sure when in next) year.

P.S. Our WORLD, Your Story. :)

Is there a location in or near Plano, Texas that carries your Dresden books? (North of Dallas.)

  15. fred
    November 20th, 2010 at 11:36 | #15

Any retailer that has an account with Alliance or ACD (both major national games distributors that carry our line) should be able to order copies for their store. I know for sure that the following Texas stores have ordered our stuff before – Dragon’s Lair Comics & Fantasy (Austin & San Antonio, TX); Generation X Comics (Bedford, TX); Rogues Gallery Comics & Games (Round Rock, TX) – but that may not be all of them that could.

I’m one of those who bought the physical version before I knew about the site or online bits. Is there a way I can get a copy of the PDF version? I purchased it at The Source in Minnesota (somebody said Roseville; I always thought it was St. Paul – but then I’m a buser not a driver) and never bothered to keep the receipt (heck, I knew I wasn’t gonna return it). I talked to the owner who has me & my sweetie on their discount membership deal, so he said he would vouch for us having actually purchased it.

@kenley, sadly, no — ask your local stores who their games distributors are and I might be able to tell you if they’ve got connections to a distributor that can supply them.

I purchased the books at GenCon in August – is there any way of getting the PDFs without having to pay for them separately?

Yep, see the PDF Guarantee link above, Caren.

Do any stores in Vancouver, Canada sell this? I’ve been asking around and doesn’t seem like anyone carries it

  26. fred
    January 29th, 2011 at 15:19 | #26

@Chris, they are capable of carrying it in all likelihood regardless of whether they actually do. You may need to ask them to special-order it. We are carried by Canada’s largest games distributor, Lion Rampant, so there’s little obstacle to most FLGSes on your side of the border picking up the game.. But they might not unless a customer voices interest to them. Tell them you’re interested in EHP3001, EHP3002, and EHP9001 (volume 1, volume 2, and the dice) and that the products are carried by Lion Rampant on behalf of Evil Hat Productions.

@Angelica, off the top of my head I’d recommend Leisure Games out of the UK. Great guys, great shop.

Would there be anywhere in new Zealand that carries the Dresden files rpg game with them?

  30. fred

@Aodhan, try Mark One Comics & Games. I think there’s a second shop by a different name somewhere in NZ that’s ordered them as well, but I can’t place it.

If anyone’s having a hard time coming up with Fudge dice to play once they finally get a copy of the rules, I found a fun alternative that’s far easier to come across in bookstores and hobby shops: Zombie Dice. I see the game everywhere, Fudge Dice not so much. All you have to do to simulate Fudge dice is choose four YELLOW Zombie Dice from the game. Like Fudge dice, the yellow Zombie Dice have two positive outcomes (brains), two negative outcomes (shotgun blasts) and two neutral outcomes (footsteps of fleeing victims). Of course, they make you want to add more ambulatory corpses to your games. Maybe that’s just me.

I don’t mean to advertise another company’s game here. It’s just as much fun to make your own Fudge dice. My first set was a bunch of flat sided dice I found on the floor in a warehouse. I spray painted them silver, added the plus and minus sides, and then just to make them Dresden Dice, I added pentacles for zeroes. I love ‘em, but they give me a lot of pentacles.

What kinds of info can we expect to see in “Paranet Perils”?

  33. fred
    April 22nd, 2011 at 09:24 | #33

@Chris M, a catch-up covering what’s been learned and what’s happened during Turn Coat and Changes (significant stuff), and a tour of six different locations around the globe as starting-points for a campaign or as places your characters might visit during their adventures.

    Hello Guys,
Love the game, Love the characters. I was searching for an “Urban Fantasy” environment and this one fits perfect.
I just had to go through a high difficulty level to buy your books (I am from Spain, sorry for my english languaje mutilations).
Do you know an easier alternative? i Hooked a friend with the game and he wants to buy it from you. But he is a student and can not spend the money i had to pay.

Your best bet is to go with a European based mail order option, such as Leisure Games in the UK, or Sphärenmeisters Spiele in Germany.

    Hi,

This is way late, but I’m in Fort Worth and the Lone Star Comics chain sells them. At least, that’s where I found my copy. I don’t know the where all the LSC stores are, but I’d think the other comix stores would have them also.

    Holy crap, there’s an RPG?
    I’m getting me this.

    Awesome :D

Love the whole Dresdenverse (Though I was sad to see the tv-show was so different from the books.)

  38. January 17th, 2012 at 21:04 | #38

It wasn’t bad. Different a bit, but not bad. Then again, it wasn’t even really as different as people seem to think…

I disagree, but this is probably not the place for this discussion.
