We got some great news over the weekend. In this inaugural year of Board Game Geek’s Golden Geek Awards covering the RPG sector, we had the privilege to be nominated in multiple categories. And this weekend it became official — The Dresden Files RPG has won the 2010 Golden Geek for Best Artwork/Presentation… AND the 2010 Golden Geek for Game of the Year!
We’re beyond thrilled to get this news, and hope it hints at good things in the year to come. Dare we hope for an Origins Award? An ENnie? Fingers crossed!
A rare event! Both Jim Butcher and Fred Hicks get interviewed on The Walking Eye podcast, and talk about the novels, the RPG, and gaming in general. Have a listen!
The limited edition “Wizard” fudge dice are up for preorder on Evil Hat’s web-store!
This is a 12-die set containing four “hellfire” (translucent red with yellow markings), “winter” (translucent blue with white markings), and “ectoplasm” (glow in the dark yellow with black markings) Fudge Dice. You can find more details about ‘em at the product page linked above.
The dice will ship in mid-December, though we can’t guarantee they’ll reach you before Christmas, so do keep that in mind.
(Also, as a fair warning and a bit of pre-disappointment on shipping: it’s entirely likely you’ll find that the shipping prices are a bit high if you’re just buying one set of these and nothing else (domestically it’ll start above $5, internationally it’ll cost way more than that). But we will be making sure that at least some of these sets get out into distribution, so there’s a chance you’ll be able to order them — not yet, but soon! — through your FLGS of choice. All the same, there will only be about 2000 sets of these in circulation, in total.)
Our game is a finalist in the 2010 Golden Geek Awards! Specifically for Game of the Year (alongside the VSCA/Evil Hat Fate game Diaspora, also available on the EH webstore) and Best Artwork/Presentation. Thanks to everyone who voted in the Geeks!
In honor of Harry Dresden’s Oct 31 birthday, we’re knocking 10% off all DFRPG products on the Evil Hat webstore this week (and this week only — come Monday, sale’s over!).
Save $9 on the two books and get free shipping when you order them together. Or pick up both PDFs for only $36
The folks over at Reddit are doing a public-sourced interview — calling for questions that folks would like them to ask us. If you have (interview-appropriate) questions on your mind, bring them on over and share!
